Family Shoot

It has been just over 2 years since I have seen this lovely family. They reached out to me for the first time when their first son, Theo was born. He was one of the easiest newborns I ever had the privilege of photographing. Well, his baby brother followed in his footsteps. He was such a delight and this family is just so genuine and relaxed and happy to be with one another...it makes my job super easy. Here are some of my favorites from our 2 hours together at their home last Sunday.

My new favorite kind of shoot-Newborn Session at the Hospital

I was a little nervous about doing this shoot. It was the first time a client had asked me to do a newborn shoot for them in the hospital. The lighting (or lack thereof) and those unsightly hospital rooms made me unsure I could produce something beautiful that would make them happy, but I have to say, I think this is my new favorite type of photoshoot. There is nothing like those first 24-48 hours with your new baby, the awe and wonder of it all as you stare, study and marvel at what you created. I really love working with this family. They are always so at ease and their love for each other pours out. There is nothing I have to stage or direct. I just have to make sure I am clicking fast enough and often enough because the perfect moments are evolving in front of me every second.
